SPA/MBB Brownbag Speaker Series

Introduction and Goals

SPA/MBB brownbag is a forum for graduate students and faculty to present and discuss research in all areas of social/personality/affective science (SPA) and mind, brain, and behavior (MBB) psychology. Our meetings have two goals: (1) to create opportunities for graduate students and faculty to present and receive feedback on current or ongoing projects and (2) to pool our knowledge about statistics, methodology, and theory, thereby expanding our understandings beyond the work being conducted in individual labs.

Format

The SPA/MBB brownbag meets weekly on Wednesdays from 11:00-11:59am and is currently a hybrid format (synchronous on-Zoom and in-person) for Fall 2025. The series features both presentations, roundtable discussions, and workshop style meetings. For the presentations, speakers present their work for 30-40 minutes and the remainder time is open discussion. For the roundtable discussions, there is usually a discussion leader (or leaders) who facilitate questions and answers for the entire meeting.
