Psychology Scholarship
The Department of Psychology is offering four scholarships for Academic Year 2026–2027.
All Application Deadlines: April 8, 2026
All scholarships are administered through Academic Works. To apply:
- Log in to the scholarship website using your SFSU ID.
- Complete the General Application. This step is required before applying for departmental scholarships.
- After completing the General Application, you will see scholarships recommended for you based on your eligibility.
- Apply for ALL Psychology scholarship for which you qualify.
Awards will be applied to Fall 2026 enrollment.
Irvin W. and Velma C. Hartman Family Scholarship in Psychology
- Supporting undergraduate students in the Psychology Department.
- At least part-time enrollment (minimum 6 units)
- Minimum GPA: 3.0
- Preference for students who plan to pursue a career in Psychology.
- To apply: Complete essay (1000 words max) and upload transcript.
- Award: 2 × $3,000
Gary A. Lucchese Scholarship in Psychology
- Supporting undergraduate and graduate students in the Psychology Department.
- At least part-time enrollment (6 units undergraduate / 4 units graduate)
- Minimum GPA: 3.0
- Applicants must describe financial need
- To apply: Complete essay (500 words max) describing financial need and upload transcript.
- Award: 2 × $1,500
Liana Sherrine Day-Williams Fellowship
- Supporting Clinical Psychology Master’s students entering their second year with practicum goals related to domestic violence
- At least part-time enrollment (minimum 4 units)
- Minimum GPA: 3.3
- Students must have a practicum with goals relating to the field of domestic violence
- To apply: Comple 500-word practicum statement addressing domestic violence; upload a resume and transcript.
- Award: 1 × $2,200
NEW: Julie Ann Dalton Memorial Scholarship
(Application opening Early March 2026)
- Supporting undergraduate and graduate students in the Psychology Department.
- At least part-time enrollment (6 units undergraduate / 4 units graduate)
- Minimum GPA: 3.0
- Students must demonstrate a commitment to a clinical career addressing teenage mental health, domestic violence, and/or family systems
- Additional application details for the Dalton Scholarship will be available when the application opens in Academic Works.
- Award: 10 × $5,000
