Alumni Career Panel
The Alumni Career Panel is hosted by the SF State Psychology Department and is a great opportunity to learn about career options available to Psychology majors. Events are held during Fall and Spring semesters and all are welcome to join. Attendees will observe a live informational interview with SF State Alumni and have an opportunity to ask questions about their career journey.
All events are held via Zoom Webinars. No need to dress-up or worry about your Zoom background because only the host and alumni speakers will have video/audio enabled. The audience can enjoy the show and ask questions via the chat feature. Click the registration links for each event to gain access.
All events are on Tuesdays from 5:00PM to 6:15PM (Pacific Standard Time).
February 7th

Alumni Speakers:
- Paree Zarolia, Ph.D.
Dr. Zarolia is a User Experience Researcher at Google. She started as a psychology undergrad at SFSU (class of 2010), conducting research in Dr. Morsella’s Action and Consciousness Lab. She went on to complete her doctoral training at the University of Denver where she studied how emotions can hinder or facilitate decision-making. She now studies misinformation and helps Google teams design solutions to help people find trustworthy information online. - Ronnel Corre, M.S.
Ronnel graduated from SF State in 2012. Ronnel obtained a Master's degree in counseling and is currently a regional social worker for Santa Clara and San Mateo county for those who are visually impaired and blind.

Alumni Speakers:
- Ricardo Prada, Ph.D.
Dr. Prada studied Psychology at SF State (class of 2002), after transferring from Chabot College, to learn how technology can be designed to help people and communities. He earned a PhD in Human Factors Psychology at George Mason and has helped design self-piloting vehicles, medical devices, and consumer products ranging from phones to VR. Ricardo now serves as Director of User Experience at Google Research, focused on artificial intelligence. - Nisaa Kirtman, Ph.D.
Dr. Kirtman graduated from SF State in 2005 and currently a Senior Research Associate Rockman et al., an independent research and evaluation cooperative. Dr. Kirtman manages research projects related to underrepresented communities in STEM at under-resourced schools. Dr. Kirtman's responsibilities involve research, strategic planning, data analysis, data visualization, writing, and literature reviews.

- Christina Parker, Ph.D.
Dr. Parker graduated from SF State in 2014 and has 10 years of experience in the mental health field. Christina has worked in a psychiatric hospital, at Veterans Affairs, in a private practice setting, and on crisis lines. Currently, Christina conducts psychiatric assessments at Kaiser Permanente and is pursuing licensure. - Athalie Tom, M.S.
Athalie graduate from SF State in 2012 with an MS in Industrial and Organizational Psychology. Athalie is an Associate Director at Willis Towers Watson, which a consulting firm that helps organizations boost employee engagement.

- Stacy Stewart, Ph.D.
Dr. Stewart is the Sr. Career Advisor at the University of Southern Maine where she has worked for the past 19 years. Dr. Stewart's background includes an Associates Degree from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in NYC, a Bachelor’s in Psychology from San Francisco State University, a Master’s of School Counseling, and a Ph.D. in Public Policy with a Concentration in Educational Leadership, both from the University of Southern Maine. - Melea Woods, M.S.
Malea Woods graduated from SF State in 2015 and is an Associate Marriage Family Therapist. Malea specializes in eating disorders/body image and LGBT folks.
