Congratulations once again on reaching this incredible milestone! We are very excited to celebrate with you tomorrow at our Psychology Recognition Ceremony. We currently have 190 graduates who will be in attendance, as well as about 1,000 family members, friends, and guests. We ask for your patience and cooperation to ensure everything flows smoothly and everyone enjoys the morning. Here are some essential details for the big day:

Graduate Arrival: The Gymnasium will open at approximately 12:00 PM, and the ceremony is scheduled to start promptly at 1:00 PM. We do not anticipate the ceremony going past 3:00 PM. We request that graduates arrive no later than 12:30 PM so they can start lining up for the procession. Please note: the gym fills up quickly! Encourage your guests to arrive early to secure a seat. We cannot promise seating for those who arrive after the event begins.
When you arrive, please report to the hallway outside of GYM100 to get your name card and remain in the designated waiting area for a ceremony briefing before the event begins. It will be helpful to look up how to write your name phonetically so the person announcing your name on stage pronounces it correctly.
If you or a guest needs a disability accommodation, please let us know as soon as possible at psych@sfsu.edu. On-campus transportation is available to all students, faculty, staff, and guests who require mobility assistance. The DPRC Cart service is available Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., excluding campus holidays. If you are not registered with DPRC, cart service can be requested by calling their office at (415) 338-2472 on a call-in basis. Ride requests cannot be submitted in advance and will only be accepted on the day you require them.

What to Do When You Arrive:
1. Arrive in Cap and Gown: Make sure you're dressed in your graduation regalia—cap and gown—before arriving. Graduates not wearing regalia should come dressed in business casual attire.
2. Check-In: When you arrive, head to the front of the gym and check in at the designated graduate registration table. While checking in, you will write down the phonetic spelling of your name on an index card to ensure it is pronounced correctly during the ceremony. You will hand this card to the faculty member calling names before your name is called on the stage.
3. Line Up with Other Graduates: After checking in, join the other graduates in the designated waiting area. Ushers will be available to guide you to this location.
Instructions for Your Guests:
1. Parking: Paid parking is available in the Parking Garage (Lot 20; 796 State Dr, San Francisco, CA 94132) adjacent to Cox Stadium.
2. Separate Check-In for Graduates and Guests: Both graduates and guests will check in at the front of the SFSU gym. However, separate check-in locations will be designated for graduates and guests. Please direct your guests to their designated check-in upon their arrival.
3. Tickets: Remind your guests to have their e-tickets ready on their phones/devices to expedite the line and ensure timely seating. Ticket check and seating will begin at 12:00 PM. We are aiming to have all guests seated by 12:30 PM.
4. Program Access: In line with our green values, we have an electronic program this year. The program is accessible via the attached QR code for your convenience. Please feel free to send this to your guests before they arrive.
5. Seating Arrangements: Our staff and faculty will direct guests to their seating areas, with volunteers available for assistance.
6. Avoiding View Obstructions: Remind your guests to refrain from bringing signs, air horns, or other items that may obstruct the view or detract from the celebratory nature of our event.
7. Post-Ceremony Photos: Although the ceremony concludes promptly at noon to prepare for the next event, ample time will be available for photos outside the gym after the ceremony.
